Patty Russell has over 20 years of experience training and competing in dressage.
Patty started her career with horses as an eventer and competed in several major competitions in the NW area before concentrating and specializing in dressage. Patty still enjoys giving the odd lesson in jumping but her main focus is now on dressage.
Patty received the coveted awards of gold, silver and bronze medals through the USDF award programs and she has since pursued a career in teaching the art of dressage from beginner to advanced levels.
Patty has attended many clinics with such accomplished riders as:
Steffan Peters; Carol Lavell; Hilda Gurney; Conrad Shumaker; Michael Poulin etc.
Patty graduated with honors from the "L" program for Dressage judges and has completed the training for the "r" program through the USDF. Patty enjoys traveling across the region and into Canada to judge and compete at the dressage shows.
Canter Lane Stables offers dressage lessons, clinics and training sessions for all breeds of Equines. Being that Patty is a petite lightweight rider, this makes it perfect for her to climb on board ponies as well as the larger horse.
NEWS!! Patty has bought a Welsh Cob section D colt named FLYING FEATHERS FRAMPTON off Ginger Mack that she hopes to take through the dressage levels eventually. She is looking forward to seeing how he turns out and with his exceptional pedigree (his sire being North Forks Brenin Cardi, dressage Welsh Cob) he certainly has big hooves to fill.
Patty rides her own horses Nickolas and HS Spirit at USDF recognized shows and schooling shows around the Pacific NW and also trains and competes horses and ponies owned by her clients.

| Spirit, a beautiful black mare was bought as a youngster off Charlene Summers of Summervale Farm. She has bred two beautiful colts both via embryo transfer. Patty competes Spirit at 3rd and 4th levels and has won or been placed at many recognized shows. |

Patty on board a 13.2hh Welsh pony stallion (owned by client Carolyn Guinotte) Smoke Tree Gold Fever (Nugget) at the Champagne Classic Dressage Show August 2007.
This was the pony's third time out to a show since he started in training with Patty as a 3yr old back in April '07.
